Phoebe Strom
Phoebe is a 4th year doctoral student in Cornell University’s School of Industrial & Labor Relations.
Broadly, she is interested in how organizations manage, influence, and realize the consequences of interpersonal interactions at work, particularly negative interactions like conflict and sexual harassment. She uses mixed methods—qualitative interviews, surveys, archival data, and lab experiments—to explore how organizational practices, systems, and norms shape the experiences and effects of these interactions. Her research is focused primarily on service-sector occupations in which social interactions are intrinsic to both the process and outcomes of work.
